All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Star 6 April 1967 KATE CALDWELL SERVICES THURSDAY Funeral services for Margaret Catherine (Kate) Caldwell were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. L. D. Wilkes and the Rev. Paul Hampton officiating. Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mrs. Dale Henricks, Mrs. W. A. Finley and Mrs. Chris Miller, accompanied by Mrs. Donald D. Brown at the piano, sang, "We’re Going Down The Valley," "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Precious Memories." Casket bearers were Keith Berry, Robert Caldwell, Fred Roden, Donald Karnes, Roland Harrison and William Caldwell. Interment was int he Verden Cemetery under the direction of the Hansen Funeral Home. Mrs. Caldwell was born Oct. 8, 1874 at Anutt, Mo., and died March 28, 1967 at Shanoan Springs Residence. She was united in marriage to Charlie Karnes at Anutt and came to Oklahoma in 1910. Mr. Karnes died in 1940. To this union was born four children, one preceding him in death. She was married to William Caldwell in 1944, who died in 1951. She had lived in the Verden vicinity since coming to Oklahoma until the time of her death. Survivors are two sons, Orule Karnes, James L. Karnes of Okla.
