All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Velma City Cemetery--Velma OK The Chickasha Express-Star Monday, 12 September 2005 Tuesday, 13 September 2005 BERTHA COLLINS Funeral services for our beloved mother Bertha Collins, 90, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Grand Assembly Of God Church, with Reverend Larry Hatfield officiating. Bertha Collins was born August 8, 1915, in Kutch, Colorado, the daughter of James Cummings and Gay Stevens Cummings. She passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 10, 2005, surrounded by her family at her home in Chickasha. Bertha came to Kingfisher, Oklahoma as a young lady where she attended school and graduated from Kings College, in Kingfisher. She later attended college in Wichita, Kansas for a year. She married Rhube W. Collins on October 15, 1934, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Bertha was a china painter and textile painting instructor for many years where she shared her knowledge and expertise of the craft. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, making clothes and most of all spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by both parents, one son, Rhuben Collins, one daughter, Renee Collins, one grandson, Brandon Ray Callahan and her husband Rhube Collins. Survivors include three daughters, Kay Fields, of Comanche, Oklahoma, Janyce Brown of Oklahoma City, Bea Hunter, of Chickasha; one son Glenndel Collins, of Lindsay, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Lissa Callahan, of Chickasha; elever other grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.
