CARTER Funeral service for Alma F. Carter, 93, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ, Chickasha. Alma F. Carter was born August 29, 1910, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard and Rhoda (Smith) Dyer, and died peacefully at her home in Rush Springs following a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She and Alton Carter were married December 3, 1927, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Mrs. Carter spent her life serving others. She was a faithful wife and mother and will be missed by everyone. She was an active member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by: Her husband of 59 years, Alton Carter; her parents, Richard and Rhoda Dyer; 3 brothers: Wilbur Dyer, Burnace Dyer, Alva Dyer (her twin); 2 sisters: Ollie Green and Mary Horton. Survivors include: 2 daughters: Lucy Firth and husband, Darrel, of Lancaster, California, Anna Belle Hair and husband, Jerry, of Rush Springs; 1 son, Houston Carter and wife, Barbara, of Sacramento, California; 5 brothers: Finace Dyer, Floyd Dyer, Dan Dyer, Leonard Dyer, and Curtis Dyer; 2 sisters: Esther Stone and Mary Belle Hughes; 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews and friends.
