Crump Sr. Funeral services for Kenneth E. Crump Sr., 73, of Norman, formerly of Chickasha, will be held Monday, October 22, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Barbara Hunt officiating and Reverend Jeff Wisner, of Hutchinson, Kansas, assisting. Kenneth E. Crump was born December 29, 1927, at Tabler, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Deward Crump and Leona Bazar Crump. He died Thursday, October 18, 2001, in Norman, Oklahoma. Kenneth graduated from Pocasset High School in 1945 and attended Oklahoma University for three years majoring in business administration. He was a member of Theta XI Fraternity. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Kenneth married Janice Arlene Elliott on November 26, 1952, in Apache, Oklahoma. Two children, Kenneth Eugene Crump Jr. and Kathy Lynn Crump were born to this union. Except for the last year when they have lived in Norman, Oklahoma, they made their home in Apache or Chickasha during the almost 49 years they were married. His work experience consisted of being general manager for Elliott's Department Store of Apache, a life insurance salesman for National Foundation Life Insurance Company of Oklahoma City, owner of Crump?s Store for Men in Chickasha, crude oil buyer for ARCO Petroleum Products, oil and gas lease buyer for J.D. Simmons Inc., Oklahoma City, carpenter for Davidson Construction, and self-employed remodeling contractor before retirement. Kenneth was an active member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was past member of Chickasha Elks Lodge, Chickasha United Fund Chairman, Chickasha Industrial Trust Member, secretary of Apache Rotary Club, president for four years of Apache Free Fair Board, and president for four years of Apache Chamber of Commerce. He served 18 years on the Apache Voluntary Fire Department, was a member of Apache Lions Club, chairman of Administrative Board and past member of First United Methodist Church, Apache, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his brother Bill; brothers-in-law Austin Davidson and John Hayes; nephew, Jerry Davidson; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Goldie and Jewel H. Elliott. Survivors include his wife, Janice, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Susan Crump, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter, Kathy Crump, of Conifer, Colorado; grandsons, Brett and Ted Crump, of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Connie Davidson and Norma Hayes, of Chickasha; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Judy Crump, of Chickasha, Larry and Sharon Crump, of Lexington, Missouri, Leon and Fran Crump, of Columbia, South Carolina, John and Glenda Crump, of Chickasha; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Dwight Woodward, of Cyril, Oklahoma; and many loved nieces and nephews. Kenneth dearly loved his family and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 1284, Chickasha, OK 73023; or the National Parkinson Foundation Inc., 1501 N.W.
