All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rush Springs Cemetery--Rush Springs OK © The Chickasha Express-Star 2 Dec 2003 Thada Bell Davis Funeral services for Thada Bell Davis, 85 of Verden will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2003 in the Southern Baptist Church, Rush Springs with Rev. Elmer Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith Cobb Chapel. Thada was born May 26, 1918 in Rush Springs to Luther and Nanny (Carry) Gilpin and died Saturday, November 29, 2003 in the Grace living Center. On September 2, 1943 she married Floyd E. Davis in Marlow. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was a lifelong resident of the Rush Springs area. She enjoyed quilting, loved to travel and work in her garden. She enjoyed attending her Sunday School Class and loved to cook peanut butter cookies. Survivors include: Son: David Davis and wife Jo Vaughn, Verden; two grandsons: Landon and Patrick Davis of Verden; one sister-in-law: Jean Gilpin and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; 1 brother; 1 sister, 2 daughters: Pamela and Pauline Davis. Songs included: Amazing Grace, I'll Meet You In The Morning; Green Pastures and I'm Going Home. Singers were: Candy McGhyghy, Karen Goodwin and Karen Payne. Pallbearers: Landon Davis, Patrick Davis, Jr. Hale, Don Hayes, Richard Krey, Chris Sampley.
