All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Rush Springs Cemetery--Rush Springs OK Lawton Consititution 26 Oct 2002 Lester Davis DUNCAN - Funeral for Lester Davis, 77, Duncan, will be at 2 p.m. today at Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ron Meadors officiating. Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at his home. Burial will be at Rush Springs Cemetery under direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. He was born March 5, 1925, at Glendale, Ariz., to George W. and Gurthie Phillips Davis. He served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 26, 1944, to Sept. 30, 1950. He married Mamie Lewis at Flag Staff, Ariz. She died in January 1978. He married Patricia Jean Gaede on Dec. 28, 1978, in Duncan. He moved to Duncan from Fletcher 24 years ago. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church. He worked in civil service at Fort Sill for 34 years, and for the Grandview School district 10 years. He was also the groundskeeper for Bethel Assembly of God Church for many years. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons and a daughter-in-law: E.R. Gaede, Norman; Robert and Anna Davis, Eau Claire, Wis.; and Kevin Gaede, Oklahoma City; nine daughters and sons-in-law: Ellen and Max Clarke, Lenore, N.C.; Kathy and Wayne Martin, White Hall, Ark.; Kathie and Gerald Beasley, Duncan; Sandie and Johnny Roy, Edmond; Marcella and Dan Maxwell, Amarillo, Texas; Jully and Jim Hirsch, Stanton, Ill.; Diana and Russell Plummer, Gower, Mo.; Lesley and David Hurta, Clute, Texas; and Penny and Charles Chaney, Duncan; 34 grandchildren; and 24 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
