H. DOUGLAS FUNERAL HELD Rev. H. P. Haley of Chickasha conducted funeral services for James Harmon Douglas Friday afternoon at the Tuttle Baptist Church. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Troy Marlow, Mrs. Robert Davis, Harvey Edwards Jr. and Rev. Noah Phillips, with Mrs. Phillips at the piano. The songs used were "The Old Rugged Cross", "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, by the side of his wife who died in 1923. Mr. Douglas was born in Marshall County, Alabama, Dec. 25, 1854, and died March 27, 1940, at the home of his son, Robert H. Douglas. He was a member of the Baptist Church and served many years as a deacon. Aug. 8, 1879, he was married to Miss Maggie Ida Glover at Centerville, Texas. To this union were born five children, three boys and two girls. A girl and a son died in infancy. One son, J. B. Douglas, died in 1935. Surviving members of the family include one son, Robert Douglas, Tuttle, one daughter, Mrs. John Sitterding, Dos Palos, Calif., one brother, C. H. Douglas, and 15 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. Mr. Douglas moved to Grady County near Norge in 1905 from Texas, and had resided in the county since that date.
