::Verden Cemetery--Verden OK

The Chickasha Express
May 27, 1939


Verden, May 27 - Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 
o'clock at the First Baptist church for Robert Emerson Dodson, age 76 
years, 3 months and 26 days who died at his home three miles north of 
Verden Friday morning after a few weeks illness.

Mr. Dodson was married Nov. 6, 1889 to Miss Ada Jane Burnette in Hood 
county, Texas, and to this union nine children were born. One daughter, 
Mrs. Edith Harp, preceded him in death, Nov. 20, 1934.

Mr. and Mrs. Dodson moved to the Verden community in 1901 and have lived 
here since.

Rev. C. W. Taylor, assisted by Rev. P. F. Harmon and Rev. J. D. Stout, 
conducted the services.
