All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Star 29 June 1989 FRANK DODSON Funeral for Frank Dodson, 94, Oklahoma City, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, 1989, in the Verden United Methodist Church with Edward Whitley officiating and Rev. Frank Mitchell assisting. He was born May 19, 1895, in Granberry, Texas, the son of Robert Watson Dodson and Ada Burnett. He died June 22, 1989, in Oklahoma City. He married Rose Talkington at Anadarko in 1927. Mr. Dodson was reared north of Verden. He later served in the U. S. Army during World War I. Returning from his service in the army, he then moved back to Verden where he lived until moving to Oklahoma City in 1930. Frank worked in the oilfield for a number of years before beginning his work with Tinker Air Force Base in 1943 as a crane operator. He retired in 1966. Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by both of his parents; two brothers and three sisters; three children, Bryan Manning, Dorothy Julian, Ted Manning; and his wife, Rose Dodson, in 1975. Survivors include one son and a daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Shy Manning of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Joe Dodson and Howard Dodson, both of Verden; one sister, Cecil Simmons of Verden; three granddaughters, one great granddaughter and three great grandsons.
