Alma was born on February 1, 1911. She died on October 26, 2004. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 27 October 2004 ALMA LUCILLE McGEE DOTSON Graveside service for Alma Lucille McGee Dotson, age 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2004, in Fairlawn Cemetery. Father John Norris will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29, 2004, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the McRay Funeral Home in Chickasha. Alma McGee Dotson was born in Okemah, Oklahoma, on February 1, 1911, to Samuel and Sarah Ellison McGee, and was one of thirteen children. She died on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in Tulsa. The McGees were an Oklahoma Territory pioneer family, and Samuel was in both Oklahoma Land Rushes. Alma attended State Teachers College in Ada, taught school in Pharoah, Oklahoma, and graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women. On November 27, 1930, she married H. C. Dotson, and in 1934 they moved to El Centro, Colombia, where H. C. was employed by Standard Oil of New Jersey. They returned to the States in 1942 and settled in Oklahoma. In 1946 they moved to Chickasha, where H. C. worked the remainder of his career for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. Alma worked for 20 years as a devoted elementary school teacher in Chickasha. Alma was an active member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the DAR. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years and two grandchildren, Nancy Trimble Carter and Benjamin McGee Dotson. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Trimble and her husband, Glenn, of Oklahoma City; son, George Dotson and his wife, Phyllis, of Tulsa; daughter, Mary Dotson of Tulsa; Joanne's children: Joanna Smith, Don and Paul Trimble; George's children: Sarah Mathews and Grant Dotson; Mary's children: Austin and Anne Ramzy; 15 great grandchildren; and sister, Edna Barnes of Rosedale. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Simeon's for their loving care of Alma. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to: St. Simeon's Episcopal Home, 3701 N. Cincinnati, Tulsa, OK 74106. A memoral service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. in St. Anna's Chapel, St. Simeon's Episcopal Home in Tulsa.
