Duncan, 60, of Rt. 1, Amber, was killed instantly in a one car accident early this morning at 4:30, two miles north of Chickasha. Mrs. Duncan, an employee at Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts was on her way to work when she crossed the already sanded icy Washita River bridge and lost control of her car and veered into a telephone pole, fatally injuring the Amber woman. At this time seventeen people have lost their lives on Grady County roads. Mrs. Duncan was born at Robert Lee, Texas, October 26, 1907, and was raised in the Amber community. She and her husband were farmers in Minco, Amber and Pocasset area for more than 43 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Davis, April 14, 1962. She married Thurman Duncan April 24, 1965. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, George R. Davis of Chickasha; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Sitterding of Hayward, California, Mrs. Reaford Shadoan of Lithopolis, Ohio; two step sons, Phillip Clay Duncan, Huntsville, Alabama, and Donald L. Duncan of Viet Nam; ten grandchildren and five sisters.
