All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 3 February 2004 EMMA LEE DUNCAN Emma Lee Duncan was born February 27, 1917, in Romulus, Oklahoma, to Luther F. and Minnie Lee Jackson, and passed away January 31, 2004, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She married Cecil Duncan on June 18, 1935, in Maud, Oklahoma. She retired from Twin Rivers Headstart Program after 30 years' service. Emma Lee Duncan, also known as "Lee" Duncan, was a teacher and had great love for her Headstart class. Many of her students visited her through the holiday season each year. Her extended family for life was Celia Kilgore and her two lovely daughters, Meghan, 17, and Madyson, 15. To them "Lee" was always their "Nana." Prior to being in the Headstart program, she and her husband Cecil owned and operated theaters in Welletka and Wetumka, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one sister, Ruby May. Emma Lee is survived by one brother Lloyd Jackson and his wife Allene, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, a sister-in-law, Josephine Duncan, of Riverside, California, several cousins, and a host of friends. Services are February 6, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Methodist Church, Wetumka, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, Oklahoma, at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Wetumka, Oklahoma.
