All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Verden Cemetery--Verden OK The Verden News July 16, 1937 Mrs. Anna Dry, who had made her home here with her daughter, Mrs. Maud Jones, passed away Friday afternoon after two weeks illness of heart disease. Penny Anna Sessums was born in Texas, December 21, 1868 and passed away July 9, 1937 at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 18 days. She was united in marriage to Tom Dry in 1886, to this union five children were born, her husband and three children have preceded her in death. The funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jones at 11 o'clock Saturday morning with Rev. C. W. Taylor conducting the services. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist church, having been converted in young womanhood, which she always lived a consistent Christian and devoted mother. Those left to mourn her departure are two daughters, Mrs. Maud Jones of Verden and Mrs. Ollie Cannon of Apache, one brother, R. I. Sessums of Comanche, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Interment was made in Verden cemetery with Hansen undertaking association in charge of the burial arrangements.
