Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ==================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 10 April 2001 Winnifred Laverne Evans Funeral service for Winnifred Laverne Evans, 90, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2001, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Winnifred Laverne Evans was born March 16, 1911, in Oxford, Arkansas, the daughter of George Dennis and Alice Pearl (Butts) Robins, and died Saturday, April 7, 2001, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She and Dr. Samuel W. Evans were married December 30, 1937, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Mrs. Evans received her bachelor of science degree in math and science and her bachelor of arts degree in English from Southwestern University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She taught both junior high and high school in Weatherford and Clinton during her early years of marriage. In 1947, she and her husband moved to Chickasha, where Dr. Evans served on the faculty of USAO until his retirement in 1980. Mrs. Evans was an active member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ and assisted her husband in the writing of many religious tracts. She loved to garden and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Pi Gamma Mu and the Faculty Wives Association. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marjorie Alice Robins Jones. Survivors include: her husband, Dr. Samuel W. Evans, of the home; one son, Jerry W. Evans, of Grand Prairie, Texas; two daughters, Robyn Lambrecht and husband, Tom, of Norman, Oklahoma, Sammye Martin and husband, Wayne, of Garland, Texas; one granddaughter, Angela Evans-Goerdel and husband, Pete, of Arlington, Texas; four grandsons, Mark Lambrecht and wife, Amy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brad Lambrecht and wife, Sunny, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Douglas Martin and wife, Sarah, of Garland, Texas, Dennis Martin of Garland, Texas; two great grandsons, Aidan and Jack Lambrecht of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mark Lambrecht, Brad Lambrecht, Douglas Martin, Dennis Martin and Pete Goerdel. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
