Lora Nell Everett was born March 30, 1902, in Lebanon, Okla., and died on Monday, July 30, 2001, in Chickasha. Burial will be in the Purcell Cemetery, Purcell, Okla., under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ---------------- The Chickasha Express-Star 24 August 2001 Lora Nell Everett Funeral service for Lora Nell Everett, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2001, in the Chapel of the Sevier Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Sheerer, retired minister of Southern Oaks Church of Christ, officiating. Lora Nell Everett was born March 30, 1902, in Lebanon, Indian Territory, to Lon and Pearl Everett. Lora passed away July 30, 2001, in Chickasha at the age of 99 years and 3 months. Lora graduated from Purcell High School. She attended college at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha and the University of Oklahoma in Norman where she earned her bachelor's degree. She taught school for 38 years in McClain, Cleveland and Grady counties. She taught many years at Southwest Elementary School here in Chickasha. Lora was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Association, the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, National Teachers Association, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Lora was preceded in death by her father, Lon Edward Everett; her mother, Pearl Freeman Everett; two brothers, Joe Douglas Everett and Earl Clinton Everett; one sister, Nona Everett Thompson. Survivors include: two sisters, Opal Peters and Edna Everett, both of Chickasha; one brother, Dr. Carl Everett and his wife, Mary Hope, of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister-in-law, Josephine Everett of Oklahoma City; her aunt, Lera Jo Jamison of Chickasha; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mike Mosley, Larry Shipman, Shelby Shipman, Scott Watson, Joe Mitchell and Michael Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Davis, Henry Horn, LeRoy Null, Bill Foster, John Kiser, James Bowman, Don Hamlett, Charles Payne, Jim Bugner, Truman Clift and Joey Tannehill. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
