All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Sunday News-Globe June 6, 1997 Eugene Paul Estes CHEYENNE, Okla. - Eugene Paul Estes, 86, died Wednesday, June 4, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Community Building at Reydon with the Rev. Marilyn Schellhamer officiating. Burial will be in White Rose Cemetery at Reydon by Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Mr. Estes was born in Verden. He spent his early years in Verden, Lindsey and Stillwater before moving to Durham in 1929. He then moved to Reydon in 1931. He married Berta Purcell Estes in 1931. Mr. Estes was a retired rural mail carrier and rancher. He was a member of Reydon United Methodist Church and was involved in many community activities in Reydon and Roger Mills County. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. After retiring, he and his wife traveled with the Wally Byam Air Stream Club. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Dudley of Waxahachie, Texas; two sons, Gordon Estes of Mobeetie, Texas, and Gary Estes of Cleburne, Texas; a brother, Leon Estes of Victorville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
