All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Reed Cemetery--Reed Ok Gladys Eggers WELLINGTON - Gladys Eggers, 94, former resident of Mangum, Okla., died Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Bob Jones, sonin-law, and the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery in Reed, Okla., by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mrs. Eggers was born in Greer County, Okla., and graduated from Vinson High School. After graduation from Weatherford State Teachers College, she taught school in Oklahoma for five years, in Iowa for five years, in Texas for 17 years and one year in Florida. In 1995, Mrs. Eggers was recognized by the Reed Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Sulphur Baptist Church. In 1995, she moved to Wellington from Mangum. She married Albert Eggers in 1933 at Chickasha, Okla. He died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jones of Wellington and Margaret Ann Hall of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Adora Scott of Lazbuddie, Maudine Pugh of Amarillo and Alta Jean Davis of Wheeler; a half-brother, Henry Smith of Reed; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to Brown Memorial Christian Library, c/o First Baptist Church, Wellington, TX.
