ELKINS Funeral services for Ernest B. Elkins, 86, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with Sevier Funeral Home. Ernest B. Elkins was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Cogar, Okla., and died on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, in Chickasha. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 10 September 2004 ERNEST (ERNIE) B. ELKINS Funeral service for Ernest (Ernie) B. Elkins, 86, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, September 13, 2004, at the First Baptist Church. Ernest (Ernie) B. Elkins was born January 14, 1918, in Cogar, Oklahoma, the son of William B. and Mattie Frances (Fugate) Elkins, and died Thursday, September 9, 2004, in Chickasha. Ernie grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Classen High School. He married Othella Wilmoth April 24, 1937. She preceded him in death September of 1995. At the age of 14, Ernie started working after school at a dental lab in Oklahoma City. His first job was sweeping floors. From there he began to learn the art of making dentures. In 1945 Ernie came to Chickasha and opened Elkins Dental Laboratories. He loved his work and helped many people during the 58 years he was in business. Ernie was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Allen Long, of Chickasha; one son, William E. Elkins, Sr., of Chickasha; grandchildren, Angie Jeffries, of Chickasha, Christy Fletcher of Chickasha, Nella Osborne and husband James, of Longmont, Colorado, William E. Elkins, Jr., and wife Crystal, of Chickasha, Traci Powell and husband Jamie, of Lawton; one sister, Goldena King, of Chickasha; great grandchildren, Cassidy Fletcher, William Elkins III, Regan Elkins, Noah Elkins, Callie Osborne, Katie Powell, and Caleb Powell.
