The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Funeral services for Mrs. Matilda Catherine Coppenbarger Elliott, 80, was conducted today at 2:30 p.m. in the Alex Methodist Church under the direction of Chickasha Funeral Home. Interment was to be in the Ireton (Laflin Creek) Cemetery, Alex. Mrs. Elliott died around noon Wednesday at her home in Alex after an illness of two years. She had been bedfast the past eight months. She was born May 30, 1863, in Missouri. Mrs. Elliott had been a resident of Alex since 1908. She was preceded in death two years ago by her husband, Joseph. They formally lived at Ardmore, Oklahoma prior to moving to Alex. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Methodist Church of Alex. Surviving relatives include one son, E. J. Elliott of Alex, four daughters, Mrs. J. R. Merrell, Lindsay; Mrs. S. L. Meeks, Alex; Mrs. M. T. Greer, Amarillo, Texas, and Mrs. Annie Elliott, Alex, one sister, Josie Zemmer, Chickasha, 24 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.
