All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 7 July 2003 JOHNNY FRED FOSTER Funeral services for Johnny Fred Foster, 78, of Chickasha, formerly of Ada, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the Criswell Chapel, Ada, Oklahoma, with Rev. Gary Jamar officiating. Chickasha Honor Guard will perform military honors at Swan Hill Cemetery, Ada. Johnny Fred Foster was born September 25, 1924, in Ada, Oklahoma, to John Benjamin Foster and Alma Hubbard Foster, and died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at his residence. He lived in this area all his life until 1961, when he moved to Jacksonville, FL for over 5 years. He went to school and graduated from Bying High School. Johnny received a B.S. in Education from East Central University and a master's degree in education from east Central University. He was a teacher in Jacksonville, FL, for 5 years. He returned to Oklahoma in 1966 where he taught at Chickasha High School until retirement. While teaching at Chickasha, Mr. Foster started the program for televised school courses at the high school, as well as at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha. He was also a U.S. Marine (WW II 5th Marine Division). Johnny married Betty Jean Hammond Foster on February 17, 1948, in Sherman, TX. Survivors include his wife: Betty of the home; 1 daughter: LaDonna Hurley, Chickasha; 1 son: Kent Foster, Chickasha; 4 grandchildren: Rebekah Hurley, Chickasha, Chad Hurley, Ada Garrett Foster, Chickasha, Norma Jean Gorham, Ada, Peggy Johnson, Midwest City. OK; 5 brothers: Wallace Foster, Arizona, Charles Foster, Ada, David Foster, Ada, Jack Foster, Arizona, Andrew Foster, Chickasha; 3 sisters: Betty Dempsey, Ada.
