Rick Hendricks officiating. Marie Beth was born at home in Verden, OK, to John Stephen and Myrtle Mae (Raney) Protzman on March 3, 1913, and died July 10, 2002, in Payne County at the Stillwater Medical Center. She married James Robert Fleming on December 24, 1941, in Tulsa. She graduated from Verden High school before attending Oklahoma A & M (now Oklahoma State University) and graduating in 1936 with a B. S. Degree. In 1958, she received her M. S. Degree. She taught Home Economics at schools in Cleveland and in Stillwater. She was very active in adult education and professional organizations, and she and her late husband were active in community services. In 1957, she received the General Foods Fellowship Award. She was chairman of curriculum of study in Home Economics for the Northeastern Division of Vocational Education. In 1975, she was names an "Honorary Life Member" of the Stillwater "Young Homemakers Chapter." She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Rebecca Jane, in infancy, one brother Kenzel Protzman, and three sisters, Mabel Plank, Bernadene Lovell and Doris McAfee. She is survived by 2 daughters: Susan Fleming Hutchison and husband Gus, of Dallas, TX, and Janabeth Fleming Evans, of Kilgore, TX; 3 grandchildren: Ann Marie Borrego, of Alexandria, VA, James Brent Evans and his wife, of Williston, ND, and Melissa Jane Evans, of Kilgore, TX. Interment will be in the Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the FCC Power of Faith Building Fund, 411 S.
