Aubrey Finley June 03, 2000 Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday 06-Jun-2000 at the First Baptist Church in Verden for W. Aubrey Finley, 89, of Verden, who died 03-Jun-2000 at his home in Verden. Officiating was the Rev. Johnny Wray, assisted by Rev. David Bradley. Burial was in the Verden cemetery under the direction of McRay's Verden Funeral Home of Verden. Finley was born 22-Feb-1911 in Willow to Charley Dyer and Melissa Anne (Merrell) Finley. He married the former Fay Craddock 13-Jan-1934 in Anadarko. He grew up in Willow and moved to the Verden Community in 1921. He was employed at the Verden Prairie Gin beginning in 1936. He hauled cotton seed and cotton bales at night. He became gin manager in 1956 and retired in 1978. During his 42 years at the gin, he also farmed and ranched. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Verden. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; one sister and one daughter. Survivors include his wife, two sons, two daughters, 10 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
