GRUBB GASSAWAY Funeral services for Della E. Grubb Gassaway, 88, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2003, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Della E. Grubb Gassaway was born March 24, 1914, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph Cone and Eliza (Lunsford) Grubb and died Saturday, February 8, 2003, in Chickasha. Della grew up attending Chickasha Schools and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1932. She married R. C. Charlie Gassaway in First Baptist Church Verden on 1-7-33. After raising her family she was employed with Elston's Flowers and Gifts for 30 years until her retirement. Della was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class and a long time member of Lucile Home Extension Club. She was preceded in death by her father on February 6, 1928, her mother on April 18, 1968, and her stepfather Roger Paul Grubb on August 19, 1978. Her husband, R. C. "Charlie" Gassaway, also preceded her in death on October 12, 1978. She is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Estel Standridge and Myrtle and James Elston, both of Chickasha; two grandsons, Steve Standridge and fiancee Donna Britton of Chickasha, and Kirk and wife Kathy Standridge of Sulphur, OK; two granddaughters, Pam Voss of Checotah, OK, and Jamie and husband Brett Henderson of Chickasha; three great grandsons, Russell Standridge and wife Becca Meskimen of Chickasha, Jared Standridge of Corvallis, OR, and Brock Henderson of Chickasha; seven great granddaughters, Stacey Standridge of Eugene, OR, Kimberly, Crystal and Kara Voss of Checotah, OK, Hailey and Whitney Henderson of Chickasha, and Hattie Standridge of Sulphur, OK; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Mary Gassaway of Chickasha; sister-in-law Louella Miller of Caldwell, Idaho; and brother-in-law, Bob Hawkins of Texas. Pallbearers will be Estel Standridge, James Elston, Steve Standridge, Kirk Standridge, Russell Standridge, Brett Henderson, and Kimberly Voss. Honorary Pallbearers: Stacey Standridge, Crystal and Kara Voss, Hailey and Whitney Henderson, Hattie Standridge.
