Funeral service for Richard R. Goss, Sr., 75, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Richard R. Goss, Sr., was born July 16, 1929 to August Emil and Catherine [Rourche] Goss in Meridian, Connecticut and passed away June 13, 2005 in his home in Chickasha. He and Imogene Walker were married April 16, 1951. Richard, Sr. served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps and honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an experimental flight test mechanic for Lockheed, McDonald- Douglas and other aircraft companies for 20 years. Following a heart attack in his early 40's, his doctor advised him to seek a less stressful career. Richard, Sr. moved to Oklahoma to work for the city of Chickasha Parks Department and later Sanitation Department, retiring after 17 years. Richard, Sr.'s infectious sense of humor endeared him to all that knew him. He brought laughter to his family and friends, bringing joy in all situations. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Chickasha for over 20 years. He is survived by: His wife of 54 years: Imogene [Walker] Goss of the home, 2 sons and their wives: Richard Goss, Jr. and wife Sandra of Chickasha, Ronald Goss and wife Mary of Tulsa, 5 grandchildren: Terry, Jeanie and Dale Goss, all of Chickasha, Jeremy and Jessica Goss of Kennesaw, Georgia, 2 stepgrandchildren: Brandon and Krystin Jonely of Tulsa, 5 great grandchildren.
