June 9, 1912 - February 13,2005 Opal J. Gossett passed away on February 13, 2005 at the age of 92. She was born June 9, 1912 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Levi and Nettie Burrses. Opal married Carl Gossett on December 9, 1929 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Together they had three sons and one daughter. Opal was a member of the Erin Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, playing cards and living for her children and grandchildren. Before retiring she was a cook at the Sunset Elementary School and worked at Lois’s Upholstery Shop in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lois Williams, Eunice Nelson and an infant son in 1944. Opal is survived by her children, Troy D. Gossett and his wife, Ruby of Yukon, OK, Carl R. Gossett of Lindsay, OK, Wayne and his wife, Lila Gossett, and daughter, Nita and husband, Kent Tolman, of Lindsay, Ok. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gaye and Mike McKinney, Yukon, Cathy and Kenny Weems, Yukon, Russell and Diana Gossett, Edmond, Dana Gagan and Randy Gossett, Dallas, Texas, Tracy McCoy, Chickasha, Tucker Gossett, Lindsay, B. J. Tolman, Ashley Tolman, Lindsay, OK, and fifteen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Services for Opal will be held at the Erin Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Love officiating and interment at the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay, OK. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the B. G. Boydston Funeral Home.
