All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 10 February 2005 GAILON LEROY GOYNE Funeral service for Gailon Leroy Goyne, 71, of Alex, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2005, at the First Baptist Church of Alex. Gailon Leroy Goyne was born February 1, 1934 in Alex, Oklahoma the son of Leroy and Bessie Lee (Foster) Goyne and died February 8, 2005 at his home in Alex. Gailon attended Alex Public Schools and graduated from Alex High School in 1952. He entered the U.S. Army soon after graduating from high school and served for two years overseas. Gailon returned to Oklahoma where he worked in construction. He began working for The Soil Conservation Service in 1966 and retired 28 years later in 1994. He and Phyllis Anderson were married February 14, 1969. Gailon was an avid sports fan and coached Alex Little League Baseball. After his retirement he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working on small engines. Gailon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Goyne of the home; one son and his wife, Tracy and Shannon Goyne of Alex, Oklahoma; one daughter, Stacie Goyne of Ft. Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob Goyne of Alex; one brother, Jerry Ross Goyne of Amarillo, Texas; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
