Graves, 90, of Chickasha, father of Mrs. Mars Turner and Billy Graves of Verden, will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon, June 1, at the Assembly of God Church on South Fifth and Colorado in Chickasha with the pastor, Rev. Roper officiating. Music will be furnished by the church choir and burial will be in Verden Cemetery. Mr. Graves died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in a Chickasha hospital. He had been in failing health the past three years. He was born February 24, 1866 in Carme, Ill. He had been a resident of Grady County the past 49 years, living at Verden before moving to Chickasha about 30 years ago. He was a retired farmer-stockman. His wife preceded him in death in June, 1952. Survivors include six children, Tommy Graves of Kermit, Texas; Billy Graves of Verden; Johnny Graves with whom he made his home, Chickasha; Mrs. John Yoder, Chickasha; Mrs. Fred Nail, Azusa, Calif., and Mrs. Mars Turner, Verden; 34 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
