All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Star 27 May 1965 LONG TIME RESIDENT DIES Funeral services for William LeRoy Graves were held at 2:30 p.m. May 17 in the Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. Ed. Whitley, pastor, of the Verden church. Graves was born Oct. 1, 1899 in White County, Ill., and died May 14, 1965 in an Anadarko nursing home after a prolonged illness. He was married to Miss Alice Bell on Jan 5, 1919, southwest of Verden, where he farmed until retiring. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Verden. He is survived by his wife, Alice, of the home; two sons, LeRoy of Verden and Richard of Hayward, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. May Carpenter of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Velma Young of El Reno; two brothers, Johnnie Graves of Chickasha and Thomas E. Graves of Kermitt, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie J. Yoder and Mrs. Lucy Turner of Chickasha and Mrs. May Nail of San Clemente, Calif,; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
