Born May 22, 1912, in Enid, to Walter G. and Queena Patten, she graduated from the University of Michigan and was a member of Phi Mu and Kappa Kappa Gamma. A resident of Oklahoma City from 1940 until 1991, Mrs. Guthrie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John L. Guthrie; her sister, Rose Hanson and brother, Wyman G. Patten. She is survived by her son, John P. (Pat) and daughter-in-law, Janet Guthrie of Scottsdale, AZ, grandson Eric Guthrie of Tempe, AZ, and granddaughter, Erin Guthrie of Tuscon, AZ. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2000, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2480 W. 26th Ave., Suite 120B, Denver, CO 80211. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home in Chickasha.
