All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Gerdes, Frances Jean Funeral service for Frances Jean Gerdes, 79, of Chickasha, will be held Friday, February 7, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. in the Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Kim Domnick officiating. Frances Jean Gerdes was born April 14, 1923, in Chickasha, the daughter of Wes Venable and Mae Burch Venable. She died Tuesday February 04, 2003 in Chickasha. Jean grew up in Chickasha, attending Chickasha Public Schools and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1941. She also attended O.C.W now U.S.A.O. She was employed with P.S.O and later was employed with Dr. Pepper Royal Crown Bottling Company. There she met Leland Gerdes who she married in Chickasha on January 7, 1946, at the First Christian Church. Jean was Co-owner and operator of the Dr. Pepper Royal Crown Bottling Company for over fifty- five years and was presently the Secretary and Treasurer of the company. Jean was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a former member of Junior Social Workers and Home Culture Club. She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother Wesley Venable. Her husband Leland Gerdes also preceded her in death on July 27, 1990. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Barbara Gerdes of Chickasha and their three children Brian, Stephani and Shelbie Gerdes; one sister Ginny Hawk of Tucson, AZ., one sister-in-law, Betty Venable of Westchester, PA, two nephews, Jim and John Hawk and many, many life long friends. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
