All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Alex Cemetery--Alex OK The Chickasha Express-Star 21 February 2005 BETTY LEE GROOMS Rush Springs resident Betty Lee Grooms, age 85, passed away at 11:55 p.m. February 19th, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Marlow, OK. after a long illness. Services to be held at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Rush Springs, OK on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Gene Townsend officiating. Burial will be at the Alex Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. She was born April 9th, 1919 to Marvin and Louise Edgar of Winnifield, LA. She lived in Rush Springs for 40 years. She was a housewife, homemaker, a member of the Family Worship Center Church of Rush Springs. She loved to sew, make quilts, and crochet. She was married to Leroy Grooms on July 23, 1938 in Rush Springs, OK. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one grandson, Roy Lynn Grooms of Chickasha, one sister, Lavell Lape of California and one brother, Bennie Edgar of California. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Leroy and Viola Grooms of Chickasha, OK; one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Jim Littrell of Marlow, OK; four sisters, Bertha Adams of California, Lavada Elkins of Arizona, Wanda Jean Onstott of Texas, and Dorothy Wilson of Gulfport, Mississippi; two brother, R. C. Edgar and Marvin Edgar of Pauls Valley, OK; three grandchildren, Mona Kay Grooms of California, Debbie Gayle Watkins of Tennessee, Rickey Dean Mills of Tennessee; five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
