Burial was in the Verden Cemetery under the arrangement of the Hansen Funeral Home. Heavin was born 28-Jun-1870 in Edgar Springs, Phelps county, Mo. to Gordon Minett and Susan Jett (Karnes) Heavin. He married at Rolla, Phelps county, Mo.in 1897 Martha Isabelle Harris. He and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1920 and lived near Verden. He retired from farming in 1940 and moved into Verden. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1911; and one son who passed away in infancy. He is survived by Audra V. Heavin, Raymond E. Heavin, both of Verden; Ivan L. Heavin of Cement; and Mrs. Ora Dunham of Anutt, Dent county, Mo.; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, John W. Heavin of Columbus, Kansas and Gordon M. Heavin of Verden and two sisters, Mrs. Susan Spoon of Edgar Springs, Mo. and Mrs. Exie Crumm of Verden.
