Gussie was one of five girls, born February 11, 1912, unto Garfield and Willie Henry Denson in Paris, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Paris, Texas. The family moved to Oklahoma City, OK, in 1931. Gussie Denson united in holy matrimony to Dennis Hoffman. Unto this union three children were born. Gussie was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. She served faithfully in the ministries of the choir and the Ladies Missionary Society. Gussie peacefully stepped into the eternal spiritual presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 21, 2003. She was preceded in death by: husband, two children, both parents, and four sisters. Gussie is survived by one daughter: Faye L. Maloney of Chickasha, OK; granddaughter: Gene Lewis; and great granddaughter: Kendra Lewis. She is also survived by her church family and friends, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
