HUBER Prayer service for John P. Huber, 62, of El Reno, Oklahoma, were held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. June 9, 2003, at Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Phil Donohoe officiated. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. John P. Huber was born March 12, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and died on June 5, 2003, at his home in El Reno. John came to El Reno in 1946 from Wamego, Kansas. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He returned to El Reno in 1964 and attended Central State University. John was a funeral director with Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno and Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco, and was later affiliated with Culligan Bottled Water Plant in El Reno. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his mother, Blanch Shumaker Huber. On December 30, 1961, John married Karen Margaret Carel at Sacred Heart Church. Karen survives him in death. He is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Kevin and Jeanne Huber of Minco, Craig and Julie Huber of El Reno; father, Paul C. Huber, and his wife, Gretchen, of El Reno; brother and sister-in-law: Thomas "Kayo" and Sue Huber of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Paula Huber of El Reno; four granddaughters: Broke, Alisha, Kelsey, and Catherine; one great granddaughter, Kamille.
