All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Tuttle Times 21 January 2004 BILL HOOVER Bill Hoover,67, of Tuttle passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2003 at the Christian Care Retirement Village in Chickasha. He was born on Feb. 21, 1936 in Tuttle. He was the second child of four children born to Homer Hoover and Edith Henson. Bill grew up in Tuttle and attended Tuttle Schools. He later entered the U.S. Army in October of 1954 and served a short time during the Korean Conflict. In 1956 he was honorably discharged after serving two years. On Aug. 20, 1960 he married Bonnie Marie Newman. They were married in Oklahoma City at the Downtown Baptist Church. After they were married they lived three years in California before moving to Oklahoma City. They lived in Oklahoma City from 1964 to 1975. Then in 1975 they moved back to Tuttle were she lives today. Bill worked 20 years as a Terrazzo floor finisher and 20 years as a truck driver. At one time he and Bonnie owned and operated a Hot-Shot service. His last job before retiring due to his declining health was working for Grady County District No. 1. Throughout his life he enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, water skiing and camping with his family. Some of his favorite memories are playing dominoes and cards every Friday night with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Edith Hoover, and his father and mother-in-law, Homer and Mae Newman. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of the home; one son, Michael Hoover of Tuttle; one daughter, Michelle Watkins and husband David of Tuttle; two brothers, Jerry and Joe, both of Tuttle; one sister, Gloria McIntyre of Yukon; six grandchildren, Jacob Mashore, Kylie and Stevi Hoover, Christopher Watkins and wife Shaneia, Jeremiah Watkins and Keely Albers; three great grandchildren, Savaughn, De'Shon and Jeremiah Watkins Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Louise Melton and husband Jerry of Eufaula and Mary Newman of Healdton; one brother-in-law, Bill Newman of Eufaula, and several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at the First Assembly of God Church in Tuttle. Officiating was Rev. Emery Dye. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
