Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 24 April 2001 Loyd Earnest Houck Funeral services for Loyd Earnest Houck will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the First Baptist Church of Blanchard at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Blanchard Cemetery under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home. Loyd was born on September 22, 1916, in Seminole, OK, the only child of Noble and Allie Houck. He passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2001, at the age of 84. He served in the United States Army from February 1942 to January 1946. He married Bonnie Adell James on January 24, 1946, in Grady County. Mr. and Mrs. Houck made their home in Blanchard for over 50 years. Loyd worked for Bolton Dairy and Bill's Bread Company. Loyd and his father Noble owned and operated several stations in Blanchard including the DX Station, Fina Station and Houck's Champlin Station. After selling the Champlin Station, Loyd went to work for the FAA in Oklahoma City, where he retired from in 1982. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Allie Houck, and his wife Bonnie Adell Houck, who died September 26, 1996. Survivors include his daughter: Donna Whinery and her husband Mike, son: Phil Houck, all of Blanchard; six grandchildren: April and Brian Cole of Norman, Trisha and Angus Sites of Spring, TX, Nicole Lewis, Chad and Sarah Miller, all of Blanchard, Zane Houck and Aubrey Houck of Marlow; and two great grandchildren, Mathew McComas and Molly Lewis of Blanchard, OK; and many other relatives and friends.
