Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lavonn Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2003, at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Mrs. Hayes was born December 13, 1929, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Pate and Leona Witt Lifsey. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1947. She came to Norman in 1967 from Venezuela. She attended Moore-Norman Vo-Tech, and later graduated from Rose State College as a Registered Nurse. Doris worked at Norman Regional Hospital in C. C. U. as an RN for eighteen years. After retirement, she worked at the Postal Training Center as a health nurse for four years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman and the Norman Buckaroos Square Dance Club. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Austin Hayes, in December of 1967 and son Jack, Jr. She is survived by two daughters: Vicki Hallman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Becky Hazzard and husband, Jay, of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren: Kendal Hallman, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jenna Hazzard and James Hazzard, both of Houston, Texas, and cousin, Truman Wilkerson, of Norman, Oklahoma. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
