All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Bradley Cemetery--Bradley OK ŠThe Chickasha Express-Star 09 Feb 2004 Samuel Sidney "Sid" Hughes Funeral services for Samuel Sidney "Sid" Hughes, 96, of Alex, will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 10, 2004, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Samuel Sidney "Sid" Hughes was born to Robert and Amelia Hughes in Culman, Alabama, on March 23, 1907. He came by train to Ninnekah when he was 6 months old. At the time of his death, February 7, 2004, he was residing with John, Valynda and family east of Alex. He graduated from Ninnekah High School and had lived and farmed in and around Grady and Garvin Counties all of his life. He and Anna Neal were married April 12, 1930. To this union was born 7 children. He was preceded in death by: His wife, Anna Hughes; 1 daughter, Ruth Hughes; 1 son, R.L. Hughes; and 1 great grandson, Bradley Green. Also preceding him in death were his parents, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers. Survivors include: 2 sons, Sidney "Buck" Hughes, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and John Hughes of Alex, Oklahoma; 3 daughters, Annita Green of Ada, Oklahoma, Lyvon Morgan of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, and Lois Foster of Alex, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Roy Hughes of Konawa, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Sara Smith of Norman, Oklahoma, and Hazel Saxon of Roseburg, Oregon; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren.
