The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 3 November 2002 MARGARET MARIE HIGHTOWER Funeral services for Margaret Marie Hightower, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, are scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. Margaret Marie Shaughnesy was born July 20, 1912, in Laurel, Nebraska. She was raised in Sioux City, Iowa. Margaret graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital Nursing School and completed advanced training in anesthesia in Chicago, Illinois. In 1942, Margaret entered the Army Nurse Corps. She served at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, as a nurse anesthetist at Brooke Army Medical Center. She was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain. Margaret married John Allen Hightower in 1946. They lived in and around Pauls Valley and Stratford until 1998, at which time she relocated to Chickasha. She was department head for ten years at the Pauls Valley General Hospital. The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 4, 2002, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley. Mrs. Hightower is survived by: 2 daughters: Kathy Bizzoco and her husband Bruce of Birmingham, Alabama, and Fran Hightower of Chickasha, Oklahoma; 1 son: Paul Hightower and his wife Robin of Springfield, Virginia; 2 grandchildren: Regan Adams of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and John Dorywalski of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hightower was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John, in 1998, and an infant son, James Allen in 1949.
