She was born on February 17, 1920 in Alex, Oklahoma to Jessie Lee Dungan and William Thomas Smith. Nettie married Robert Hassler in Purcell, Oklahoma on January 21, 1941. Nettie was a homemaker and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Banner Baptist Church. Nettie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Hassler, and a daughter: Lola Jones; granddaughter: Brenda Hobbs a grandson: Joshua Hassler, and brothers: Virgil Smith, Raymond Smith, Robert Smith Roland Smith, sisters: Faye Stanley and Ann Davidson. She is survived by her sons: Melvin Hassler, Donnie Hassler, Kurt Hassler, Keith Hassler, and daughter Phillis Hobbs all of Lindsay, Oklahoma; sisters: Gertie Goodrich, Janie Davis, Wanda Rogers, Louise Chaney, Emma Ann Rabun,; grandchildren: Linda Lindsay, Jack Hobbs, Tina Bankcroft, Kenneth Jones, Candi Conneywerdy, Christopher Hassler, Meladie Hassler, Kacy Hassler,Lacy Hassler, Bryan Hassler, Cole Hassler, Gavin Hassler, Garren Hassler and 8 great grandchildren; and a host of family members and friends. Services for Nettie Hassler are to be at the Banner Baptist Church on December 21, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Bradley Cemetery in Bradley, Oklahoma. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the B.G. Boydston Funeral Home.
