Minnie Christine Hutchinson was born Oct. 24, 1907, near Verden, Okla., in Caddo County, and died on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, in her home near Chickasha ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 21 January 2004 MINNIE CHRISTINE HUTCHINSON Funeral services for Minnie Christine (Schenk) Hutchinson, 96, of Verden, will be held Saturday, January 24, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Oklahoma Territory October 24, 1907, at home on the family farm outside of Verden. She had resided there since her retirement in 1972 as a cook in the Pocasset School cafeteria. She was the daughter of Simon Samuel and Maggie Schenk. She passed away Sunday, January 18, 2004, at 10:15 a.m. in her daughter's home north of Chickasha, surrounded by her beloved children. She was predeceased by two grandsons, but she is survived by four children: Thomas Hutchinson, Jr., of Oklahoma City, Darlene M. Riley, of Chickasha, Verna Hutchinson Gause, of Overland Park, KS, and Jimmy R. Hutchinson, of Corinth, TX; nine grandchildren, thirteen step- grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved them all. Visitation will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home in Chickasha from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2004. Friends, nurses, and attending physicians are invited to join her extended family for both services to honor her life. At her request, instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Minnie C. Hutchinson Memorial Fund at the First National Bank in Chickasha. This fund will be distributed to the Emergency Food Pantry in Chickasha and the National Alzheimer's Research Foundation in her memory. Interment, along with graveside services, will be in the Schenk family plot in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, OK.
