Roy Lee Hall

After a long and courageous battle, Roy Lee Hall succumbed to cancer at 
age 75 in Sacramento, CA. on the 11th of July, 2001. Roy Hall, the youngest 
of four children, was born June 15th 1926 on a farm outside of Amber, 
Oklahoma to Benjamin Lewis Hall and Arvilla Wilma Hall. The family moved 
to California in 1941, where Roy graduated from Hollywood High and entered 
the Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Roy attended L.A. 
City College and then George Pepperdine University. After graduation from 
Pepperdine University, Roy attained employment with the State Board of 
Equalization and eventually moved on to become the principal Auditor of the 
then newly formed Campaign Audits Section. His career with the State of 
California lasted in excess of 32 years. Husband, Father, Grandfather, 
Brother and friend; Roy Hall will be sorely missed. He leaves the following 
to carry on, his wife Mabel H. Hall; his son from a previous marriage Martin 
B. Hall of Simi Valley, CA; his grandson Mason J. Hall; his stepson Larry 
Poye (Wong) of Sacramento, CA.; his stepdaughter Sharrieann Wong of Long 
Beach, CA.; Lauretta Hines, his sister from Abilene, TX.; Benson Hall his 
brother from Norwalk, CA.; Anna Bell Poettmann, his sister from Littleton, 
CO.; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be 
held for Roy Hall on Monday, July 11, 2001 at 1:00 PM at the Sierra View 
Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael, CA 95608 
(916)481-1515. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Mercy Hospice.
