Hill was born June 2, 1923, and died on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 8 October 2002 RUTH AGNES HILL Funeral service for Ruth Agnes Hill, age 79 of Verden, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2002, in the Verden First Baptist Church. Rev. Ed Whitley will officiate. Ruth A. Hill was born, the daughter of Jerome Melot and Anna Bertrand Melot, on June 2, 1923, in Wanette, Oklahoma. She died on Monday, October 7, 2002, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Ruth grew up in Wanette. She married Claud Hill on November 16, 1941, in Konowa, Oklahoma. At the beginning of World War II, she moved to Oklahoma City while her husband served in the war. In 1947, Claud and Ruth moved to Verden. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Vera Jean Dwelley. Survivors include Husband: Claud Hill of the home; Daughter: Patsy Vaughn of Anadarko; grandson and wife: Matthew and Alena Polly of Chickasha; great granddaughter: Katelyn Polly of Chickasha; brother: Roy Melot of Arizona; brother: Herbert Melot of Shawnee; sister: Edna Blevins of Verden; sister: Thelma Hampton of Chickasha; numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home. Ruth will be in state at the McRay's Verden Funeral Home in Verden. --------------------------------------------------------------------
