Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Verden News November 7, 1930 Ellen Vickers was born at Swonnee, Tennessee, March 11, 1855, passed away at Verden, Oklahoma, November 1, 1930, aged 75 years, 7 months and 20 days. Being reared to young womanhood in Tennessee, where she married Charles Hill in 1892, who proceded her in death in 1900. Mrs. Hill united with the Methodist church at the age of 15 years. She came to Verden with her stepdaughter, Nellie Tullis years ago, residing here until her death. She leaves to mourn her departure one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Tullis; four brothers, Jim Vickers of Palmer, Tenn,; Jess Vickers of Elora, Tenn.; John and Alfred Vickers of Fort Worth. Mrs. Hill was of a kind, loving disposition and a good Christian woman expressing her happiness in Jesus shortly before passing away. The funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 3:30 with Rev. Taylor officiating with the assistance of Rev. Harmon.
