He had been in the hospital about ten days from an appendicitis operation. Harold Meredith Hill was born July 19, 1914, 9 miles north of Verden and passed away October 18, 1941 at the age of 27 years, 2 months and 29 days. Meredith was graduated from the Verden high school and in 1935 was married to Hazel Marie Zipse at Kingfisher, Okla. and to this union was born two children, Robert Fred and Allen Ray. He leaves to mourn his departure besides his wife and two sons, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hill of Pocasset, Route 1, sister, Mrs. Rose Mary Brown of Tulsa and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Verden Monday, October 20 at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Thompson officiating and Hansen Funeral Home in charge. The casket bearers were Glen Kees, Allan Watson, George Tippitt, Floyd Fitzgerald, Glen McDowell, Fred Bassett. Choir was composed of F. G. Ransbarger, Mrs. Kirby Whitley, Mrs. Clyde Hamill, with Mrs. F. G. Ransbarger at piano. Solo was sang by Mrs. Thompson.
