Vineta Alice Hill was born the daughter of William J. Bryant Hill and Jessie Pooler Hill on June 18, 1917, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She died on January 25, 2005 in Chickasha. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 27 January 2005 VENITA ALICE HILL Memorial service for Vineta Alice Hill, age 87, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at the College Heights Baptist Church. Vineta Alice Hill was born the daughter of William J. Bryant Hill and Jessie Pooler Hill on June 18, 1917, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She died on January 25, 2005 in her home in Chickasha. Service in under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 28 January 2005 VINETA ALICE HILL Memorial service for Vineta Alice Hill, age 87, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at the College Heights Baptist Church. Vineta Alice Hill was born the daughter of William J. Bryant Hill and Jessie Pooler Hill on June 18, 1917, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She died January 25, 2005 in her home in Chickasha. Vineta attended Agawam and Kechi elementary schools and graduated from Fairview High School. She worked at S. H. Kress & Company for 14 years before moving to Salina, Kansas and later to Hurst, Texas. She was a financial secretary for the Bellevue Baptist Church in Hurst before moving back to Chickasha to manage M. Veta's Christian Bookstore. Vineta semi- retired in 1992 with her sister/partner managing the business. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Christian Booksellers Association, Chickasha Chamber of Commerce, Grady County Historical Society, and active in Christian Women's Club. Vineta was a member of the College Heights Baptist Church where she taught 4 year olds for 12 years, a member of the adult choir, Esther Sunday School Class and active on the Library Committee. Vineta was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Loyd Hill and Dale Hill, brother-in-law, Clyde Romines, and two sisters-in-law, Lois Hill and Virginia Hill. Survivors include her brother, Ralph Hill of Hurst, Texas; brother and wife, J. B. & Eula Hill of Lenexa, Kansas; brother and wife, Roy and Inez Hill of Ninnekah; brother and wife, Troy & Janet Hill of Debary, Florida; sister, Dorothy Romines of Sanger, Texas; sister and husband, Marleta & Herman Stephens of Chickasha; many nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to University of Oklahoma Health Science Center or the library at College Heights Baptist Church.
