Bob Willis of South Lindsay Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, officiating. He was born May 18, 1925, in Fay, and died Saturday, July 9, 1988, in South Community Hospital, Oklahoma City. He married Betty Jean Arnett on June 20, 1946 in Enid. A veteran of World War II, he served overseas in the Pacific. He was in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Humphreys was a member and deacon of College Heights Baptist Church. A member of the Operating Engineers Union, he retired as a crane operator. He had been a Chickasha resident for the past 22 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Busler; one son, Orville; one brother, Acie Dean; his stepfather, Floyd Busler; his father, John Seward. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean of the home in Chickasha; one son and daughter-in-law, Gale Duane and Rhonda Humphreys of Atoka; four daughters and ons-in-law, Jean and Hershel Mathis of Binger, Judy and Roy Martin of Newcastle, Sue and Jackie Chaney of Chickasha, Barbara and Larry Anthony of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, Bernie Busler of McCloud; five sisters, Irene Spain of Eagle City, Reba Arthaurd of Mutual, Alsina Plummer of Gary, Helen Leonard of Weatherford, Filma Schinnels of Oklahoma City; 18 grandchildren and one great grandson. The body will lie in state until 8 a.m. in Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Gragg Funeral Home of Binger. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
