J.W. Himes

PLAINVIEW - J.W. Himes, 86, of Albuquerque, N.M., died Monday, Dec. 
20, 1999.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home 
Colonial Chapel of Plainview with the Rev. Ron Brunson, minister of 
New Covenant Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview 
Memorial Park in Plainview.

Mr. Himes was born in Gredy County, Okla., and moved to the Plainview 
area in 1941. He retired from farming in the Finney community in 
1971. He operated the Panhandle Fruit Market until 1978. In 1997, he 
moved to Albuquerque.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Floy Keeling, in 1963, 
and his second wife, Elsie Bullard, in 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Leta F. Himes of Albuquerque; three 
sisters, Mildred Thompson and Opal Justus, both of Oklahoma City, and 
Willie Meredith of Rush Springs, Okla.; three grandchildren; and six 
great-grandchildren.
