Hunter, 81, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2003, at Grand Assembly of God Church. J.C. Hunter was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Tabler, Okla., and died on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, in Chickasha. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========= J.C. Hunter Obits 5-30 Funeral service for J.C. Hunter was held on Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Grand Assembly of God Church, Chickasha, with Reverend Larry Hatfield officiating. J.C. Hunter was born December 3, 1921, in Tabler, Oklahoma, and died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at his home in Chickasha after a lengthy illness. J.C. Hunter married Virginia Odom on August 19, 1938, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Shirley Jean Hunter and Charlotte Sue Hunter. J.C. married Bernice (Bee) Collins December 29, 1969, in Enid, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with one son, John Craig Hunter, Jr. J. C. is survived by: wife: Bea Hunter of the home; 1 son: John Craig Hunter, Jr.; 2 daughters: Shirley Jean (Hunter) Day and son-in-law Jerry Day, Charlotte Sue (Hunter) Reedy and son-in-law Floyd Reedy, all of Chickasha, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Destanie Elizabeth Hunter of Cyril, Oklahoma, Justin Reedy and wife Becky of Perkins, Oklahoma, Keely Sue Reedy of Oklahoma City, Scott Ray and Devon Day, both of Chickasha; 1 brother: Bobby Jo Hunter, and 1 sister: Lillie Mae (Hunter) Proffitt, both of Ft. Worth, TX; nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends J.C. was preceded in death by: His parents, Joseph E. Hunter and wife Lila Mae (McGee) Hunter; brothers: Milton (John) Hunter, Wilfred Hunter, Barney Hunter and Kurley Hunter, Sr., J.D. Hunter; sisters: Edna (Hunter) Bazar, Opal Fay (Hunter) Avery, Effie Ruth (Hunter) Rogers; 2 grandchildren: granddaughter Tracy Day, grandson Brett Day. J.C. lived in the Chickasha area most of his life. He lived in Hutchison, Kansas, while working at Cessna Airport Co. before entering the Navy. He returned to Chickasha after the war and enjoyed all his family and friends until being called home to be with the Lord. Pallbearers were Paul Batchelder, Jeff Calhoun, Jeremy Bench, Kelly Bowen, Garland Casey, and Donnie Hughes. Honorary pallbearers: Floyd Reedy, Scott Ray, Jeff Kinslow, Jimmy Rogers, Kurley Hunter, Jr., Leroy Trotter and Acie Brundt.
