All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Star-Express 14 April 2003 ORA VIOLA HENRY Funeral service for Ora Viola Henry, age 93, of Verden was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2003, at the Pentecostal Church of God in Verden. Rev. Ed Whitley officiated. Rev. Everett Morris and Rev. H. O. Robertson assisted. Ora was born the daughter of James Brookshire and Rosa Lee Loyd Brookshire on March 2, 1910, in Tabler, Oklahoma. She died April 12, 2003, In Chickasha. Ora married Martin (Casey) Henry on April 29, 1932. After their marriage, they lived in Bradley for one year, then moved to Verden. She helped Casey pull cotton every fall. In between being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, soap operas, and watching the Atlanta Braves and Oklahoma Sooners play. She also enjoyed sitting outside with grandpa watching her flowers grow and visiting with the neighbors. Ora raised a big garden every year and enjoyed canning and cooking for her family. In the 70's she worked part time at the Dairy Superb in town. Ora was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God for 45 years. She loved her church and was a mother and grandma to everyone she met. Ora and Casey would have been married 71 years on April 29th. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Buster, Guy, and Albert. Survivors include: Husband: Casey Henry of the home; Daughter: Novella Tasker of Del City; son: Donald Henry of Midwest City; Son: Bobby Joe Henry and wife, Barbara of Anadarko; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery.
